Amy Schumer didn’t clean up her act at all on Tuesday at U.K. Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards in London. The Inside Amy Schumer star received the Trailblazer award at the ceremony.
Schumer went on for over five minutes, trying to thank the magazine between her jokes. At the beginning of the speech, she said, “I'm probably 160 pounds right now and I can catch a d*** whenever I want. Like that's the truth. It's not a problem.” And that was just the start of it.
She then went on about how she didn’t lose her two front teeth until she was in the fifth grade and then got her period, which was early. She did eventually get around to Glamour, which she noted had treated her much differently than other magazines.
“They're the first magazine that said, 'Smile, be you.' Glamour has given me a lot, Glamour has given me a voice,” she noted.
“No, I'm not going to apologize for who I am and I'm going to actually love the skin that I'm in and not be striving for some other version of myself,” she said, reports The Los Angeles Times. “I make fun of women's magazines a lot because they're just great fodder and some of them make you feel bad for being born [a woman].”
Schumer also thanked Goldie Hawn, who also attended the event, for making her laugh so much and being an inspiration to her.
