Bethany Hamilton, best known for surviving a shark attack while surfing, has welcomed a baby boy with husband Adam Dirks.

The couple announced they were having a boy back in February and they’ve now revealed they named him Tobias.

“Blessed to welcome our son, Tobias, into the world,” she wrote in a Facebook post. “Born June 1st, 7.9 lbs. and 21" Long. He is named after his great grandpa Tobias meaning "The goodness of God." Adam and I so in love with our lil guy and are stoked to share life with him!”

Hamilton, 25, lost her arm when she was 13 but she continues to surf, even continuing to surf throughout her pregnancy. The film Soul Surfer was based on her inspiring story.

She previously said she will "find my own way to take care of the baby" with one arm.

The professional surfer and Dirks, a youth minister, got married in 2013.
