Rapper Big Sean has opened up about his former flame Ariana Grande, for the first time since their April breakup.

Back in April, reps for both of the stars had confirmed to Us Weekly that the two had mutually split after eight months of dating, still deeply cared about each other, and would remain friends.

Entertainment Tonight was able to speak with the Finally Famous rapper about his breakup with Grande and his former-fiance, Glee's Naya Rivera.

"I don't plan relationships. They just happen," the 27-year-old rapper said on the BET Awards red carpet. "That's all it is. I'm just living it. It's no, it's no God, it's no script. You know, we just out here doing what we doin'. Feelin' it out."

During the interview, the Blessings singer did not mention anything negative about Grande, Rivera, or the breakups with the two.

"It's no mistakes in life, though - only lessons," Big Sean added.

Big Sean fans can be expecting hear some great music soon, because the rapper thinks that relationships and breakups "just make for good songs."

Grande nor Rivera have commented on Big Sean's red carpet statement.
