Bristol Palin, who announced last month that she ended her engagement to Dakota Meyer, has told her blog readers that she is expecting a second child. She did not say if Meyer is the father or not.
In a blog post titled “Big News,” Palin, 24, wrote that she wanted to be the first to let everyone know about her second pregnancy. Based on her words, it does sound like this was unplanned. The child will be her second after Tripp, 6, whose father is Levi Johnston.
“Honestly, I’ve been trying my hardest to keep my chin up on this one,” Palin wrote. “At the end of the day there’s nothing I can’t do with God by my side, and I know I am fully capable of handling anything that is put in front of me with dignity and grace. Life moves on no matter what. So no matter how you feel, you get up, get dressed, show up, and never give up.”
Palin later wrote that this is a “huge disappointment to my family, to my close friends, and to many of you.” However, she asked for privacy during this time.
“I do not want any lectures and I do not want any sympathy,” Palin wrote. “My little family always has, and always will come first. Tripp, this new baby, and I will all be fine, because God is merciful.”
Palin, who once competed on Dancing with the Stars, confirmed in May that she called off her wedding to Meyer, a Medal of Honor recipient. There were rumors that Meyer may have still been legally married to his first wife, but she didn’t address that.
Palin is the daughter of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who was Sen. John McCain’s running mate in the 2008 presidential election.
