Robert ‘Pumpkinhead’ Diaz has passed away at the age of 39 but the cause of death has not been revealed yet.
Diaz got his start as a Brooklyn, New York rapper in the underground scene before emerging as a successful artist in the ‘90s.
AllHipHop reports the news was revealed to fans on social media on Monday.
Immortal Technique, a rapper Diaz has worked with in the past, tweeted, “Rest in Power my old friend. Life is too short. #Pumpkinhead #PH#RobertDiazRIP.”
Diaz was featured on his albums Revolutionary 1 and Revolutionary 2. He released his own album, Orange Moon Over Brooklyn in 2005. His latest album was 2011’s Know the Ledge.
His song “Dynamic,” which was released in the late ‘90s, really put Diaz on the map, making its way on to The World Famous Beat Junkies mixtape in 1998.
