Sneaky Pete, a drama pilot that was written by Bryan Cranston and House creator David Shore that was passed by CBS, is reportedly making the move to Amazon Prime Instant Video.
News of the move was first reported by Variety and was also reported by Deadline. Both sites note that the move is still not official.
Sneaky Pete is a Sony Pictures TV production that stars Giovanni Ribisi (My Name Is Earl, Ted) as the title con man. He decides to take on the identity of his former prison cell mate, only to end up working for the man’s family business - bail bonds.
Shore and Cranston wrote the pilot and are executive producers. The cast also includes Margo Martindale, Libe Barer, Peter Gentry, Marin Ireland and Shane McRae. Shore will be showrunner.
CBS probably passed on the pilot after their last project with Shore was a flop. Shore co-created Battle Creek with Breaking Bad’s Vince Gilligan, but the show was cancelled after one season.
