Caitlyn Jenner made a rare public appearance at Voss Event’s annual Pride Party at the Rooftop Lounge in the Dream Downtown Hotel yesterday. When she arrived, the crowd went crazy and chanted her name.
TIME reports that Jenner was in the midst of filming a part of her I am Cait reality show when she attended the event.
Jenner arrived with six of her girlfriends to check out Candis Cayne’s performance. Cayne is an American transgendered actress and performance artist who became famous when she played a transgendered mistress in the show Dirty Sexy Money.
Cayne and Jenner got the chance to speak together and share experiences. When Cayne went to perform, she dedicated the song “I Am a Woman” to Jenner.
Jenner couldn’t hide her smile as people throughout the event showed their support for her. “Everyone started chanting, ‘Caitlyn, Caitlyn,’” a source tells E! News
Such a big appearance is a first for Jenner, but hopefully she will feel more comfortable stepping out into the public. “I’m just going to go live life. I’m going to go enjoy life. I have nothing left to hide. I am kind of a free person, a free soul,” says Jenner.
