Ben 10, the popular Cartoon Network series debuted in 2006, is coming back for a whole new generation of kids and with the original creators.
The series told the story of ten-year-old Ben Tennyson. He discovers an alien object called an Omnitrix that allows him to transform into ten different aliens.
The Variety reports that the show will debut internationally in the fall of 2016 and will debut in North American in 2017. The original production team, Man of Action, that helped to create Ben 10 will be the executive producer.
The show was extremely successful according to Tech Times. The series consisted of four linked animated series that followed Ben as he grew up. It also had two live-action films and profitable merchandise sales through toys and video games. The whole franchise produced about $4.5 million in retail sales.
Cartoon Network’s chief content officer Rob Sorcher told The Variety that “Ben 10’ is a worldwide phenomenon for 10 years running, with more than 230 TV episodes produced. There hasn’t been an original production since 2012, but the overall popularity of the character has continued on.” The demand from audiences worldwide has been the spark that helped producers decide to re-launch the series.
