Constantine fans hoping the show might be picked up by another network, we have some bad news: the show's creator has confirmed it's officially dead.

Showrunner Daniel Cerone posted an explanation on Twitter. He says that the show's cast and writers are being released from their contracts, and the studio wasn't successful at finding another place for the show. "All I can report is that the show is over," he said.

He went on to thank fans for all the support, saying that writing Constantine has been a dream. "You all deserve many years of the series we set out to make, and we’re disappointed that we couldn’t deliver that to you," Cerone said.

Constantine was cancelled by NBC last month, but passionate fans were hoping it might be picked up elsewhere. Some celebrities even got involved, with Arrow star Stephen Armell tweeting that if the show was picked up, he would guest star.

And this didn't seem out of the realm of possibility, as other cancelled shows like Community and The Mindy Project were able to move online after cancellation. But Constantine will unfortunately not be one of those shows.
