Foo Fighter and former Nirvana member Dave Grohl only watched a portion of the HBO documentary, Montage of Heck and that was enough. The documentary, which focuses on the life of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, did not feature anyone from Nirvana.

In a recent interview with The Washington Post, Grohl explained that he has only seen about ten minutes of the documentary. "All the footage of him as a child, I think that might make me sad, and then the dark stuff at the end I think would bum me out," explained Grohl.

Brett Morgan, the director behind Montage of Heck, explained that he didn't feel it was necessary for the film to include Grohl and Krist Novoselic. He wanted the story to focus on Cobain and his formative years.

"It's not that type of movie," explained Morgan. It also came down to time restrains and the need to release the movie at the Sundance film festival, Rolling Stone reported.
