Hoping to finally watch David Letterman’s last episode of The Late Show? Well, it’s too late already because all of Letterman’s clips are gone from YouTube and CBS.com.
None of the thousands of video clips that CBS had online while Letterman was still host of The Late Show are no longer on YouTube (at least officially). You also can’t find videos on the CBS site.
This is because the rights of the show revert completely back to Letterman’s Worldwide Pants now that he is no longer host of the show, a network source told Buzzfeed. A rep from Worldwide Pants also confirmed that.
“As you might imagine, there is significant interest in the Worldwide Pants-owned content. We are currently considering a range of options,” the rep stated.
All this comes as CBS is ramping up promotion for Stephen Colbert’s takeover of the show. The network has recently released a few videos promoting The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, even though he doesn’t take over until Sept. 8.
Letterman’s last show aired on May 20 and was his most-watched show since 1994. Over 13.7 million viewers tuned in to watch it. Video from the episode is now marked private.
