Dez Bryant is not happy that he does not have a long-term deal with the Dallas Cowboys and to show his displeasure he is reportedly considering not playing in the team’s home opener.

ESPN noted that sources close to the wide receiver have said that he is considering boycotting the Cowboys’ opener if a deal is not reached.

While the sources said that threatening to sit out is part of Bryant’s negotiation strategy, his agent stayed mum on that, but emphasized that they would like to get a deal done soon.

“Our goal is still to get something done on a long-term basis by the deadline," Bryant's agent Tom Condon said.

The 26-year-old is very valuable to the Cowboys. He has played in 75 games since 2010 and caught 381 receptions for 56 touchdowns, according to Pro-Football-Reference.com. The Jones family has said that they would like to sign him before the July 15 deadline but since no proposals have been made, Bryant seems to be trying to push them along this way.

We’ll just have to stay tuned to see how this plays out.
