Empire star Jussie Smollett just gave fans something to be excited about.
Smollett walked the BET Awards red carpet on Sunday night and gave viewers a little taste of what to expect for the show’s highly anticipated second season.
“Season one – it’s that times 20 million,” he told E! News correspondent Sibley Scoles. “I keep joking that we make season one look like The Brady Brunch because it’s a lot. It’s going there, for sure.”
The actor also opened up about his TV-mom Taraji P. Henson, who was hospitalized earlier this month for exhaustion.
“She’s wonderful… she’s her crazy self,” he said of his co-star. “Mama needed some rest. She needed to tap out for a moment, she needed a break.”
Season 2, which has begun filming in Chicago, is going to be filled with a lot of familiar faces. E! News reported that guest stars will include Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz and Magic Mike XXL star Adam Rodriguez.
What we know so far is Chris Rock will be playing an inmate along side Terrence Howard’s character Lucious Lyon. It also looks like love is on the horizon for Taraji P. Henson’s famous character Cookie Lyon. Rodriguez will play her new romantic interest this season.
Empire season 2 premieres Sept. 23 on Fox.
