A family who moved into what they believed was their dream home in New Jersey has been forced out on account of cryptic letters being sent by an unknown man who refers to himself as ‘The Watcher.’
The family, who paid $1.3 million for the six-bedroom home in Westfield, was just too freaked out over these letters and decided to leave.
According to CBS New York, the anonymous sender told the family he “has been the subject of my family for decades,” asking of the children, “have they found out what’s in the walls yet?”
“I am pleased to know your names now, and the name of the young blood you have brought to me,” the letter also reads.
Fox40 reports the owners, Derek and Maria Broaddus, who have several children, are now suing the previous owners of the home for not disclosing this information. With ‘The Watcher’ becoming the talk of the town, they will likely not be able to sell the home.
Westfield’s Mayor, Andrew Skibitsky, said at a town council meeting earlier this week that there’s an “exhaustive investigation” underway.
