FX has released the first teaser for the second season of Fargo, which is probably just as anticipated as this Sunday’s True Detective premiere. The teaser reveals exactly nothing about the new season, but it does set the tone.
Titled “Peck, Peck, Boom, Boom,” the 20-second teaser features just that. There’s a shot of a woodpecker pecking at a tree with flashes of gunfire behind it. In a wide show, we see more guns flashing across an ice pond.
Still, we do know surprisingly a lot about the second season of Noah Hawley’s acclaimed series based on the Coen Brothers world. It is actually going to be a prequel, set in 1979 and covering the Sioux Falls case Lou Solverson (Keith Carradine) kept mentioning during the first season.
Like the first season though, it will again feature a star-studded cast, including Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, Patrick Wilson as the younger Lou, Ted Danson, Nick Offerman, Cristin Milioti and (strangely enough) Bruce Campbell as Ronald Reagan.
The new season of Fargo will start this September.
