The forthcoming new Broadway musical Allegiance has announced its creative team.

Allegiance will star Tony Award winner Lea Salonga, Star Trek veteran George Takei and former Glee star Telly Leung. The creative team includes Andrew Palermo who will serve as choreographer and Lynne Shankel who will handle music supervision, arrangements and orchestrations. The musical director is Laura Bergquist. Tony Award winner Donyale Werle will handle scenic design and Tony Award nominee Alejo Vietti will handle costume design. Tony Award winner Howell Binkley will handle lighting, Tony Award nominee Kai Harada will handle sound, Charles G. LaPointe will handle hair and wig design while Projection design will be handled by Darrel Maloney.

Takei will play Sam Kimura/Ojii San, Salonga as Kei Kimura and Leung as Sammy Kimura. The musical is about American internment camps for Japanese-Americans on the West Coast during World War II.

Other stars in the show include Katie Rose Clarke, Michael K. Lee, Christopheren Nomura and Greg Watanabe. The ensemble cast will include Aaron J. Albano, Belinda Allyn, Marcus Choi,Janelle Dote, Dan Horn, Owen Johnston, Darren Lee, Manna Nichols,Autumn Ogawa, Rumi Oyama, Momoko Sugai, Cary Tedder, Elena Wang, Scott Watanabe and Scott Wise.

Allegiance has a book by Marc Acito with music and lyrics by Jay Kuo. Helming the production is Olivier Award nominee Stafford Arima.

Allegiance is inspired by Takei’s true childhood experiences.

The show is scheduled to begin previews Oct. 6 at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street) prior to an official opening Nov. 8.
