Hulu is becoming more and more like a cable subscription, and the streaming service has announced it will soon be adding Showtime shows for an additional fee.

According to Hulu's press release, starting in July Hulu subscribers will be able to add Showtime to their package for $8.99 more a month. This will be on top of the existing monthly fee of $7.99, so users who add Showtime will be paying $17 a month.

If that sounds like a lot, keep in mind it's actually cheaper than purchasing the two services separately, as the app will cost $11 a month.

Hulu will be offering users a 30 day free trial at the beginning of July, giving subscribers a chance to watch the premieres of Ray Donovan and Masters of Sex.

This is yet another move away from traditional cable packages. For a while, HBO and Showtime were only available as part of expensive bundles, but now they can be purchased on their own just like Netflix, as we've previously reported. With this announcement, we're seeing our first signs of streaming services being bundled together at a slightly cheaper price.
