Jennifer Lopez is pulling double duty next winter. Not only will she be a judge on the last season of Fox’s American Idol, but she’s also going to be a detective on NBC’s Shades of Blue. While the network hasn’t released any photos, JLo beat them to it, posting the first cast photo from the set.
NBC ordered the show to go straight-to-series way back in February 2014 and apparently never forgot about it. Lopez stars as Harlee McCord, an undercover detective embedded in the FBI’s anti-corruption task force to see if her colleagues are involved in shady activity. However, she is friends with them and they help the single mom take care of her daughter.
On Thursday, production on the show started and Lopez marked the occasion by sharing a photo of the cast. The photo includes Drea De Matteo and Sarah Jeffery, but Deadline notes that Ray Liotta is nowhere to be found. Maybe they just didn’t need him on the first day.
Shades of Blue is not on NBC’s fall 2015 schedule, so it will debut in early 2016.
