It’s really hard to be a comedian in the days of social media now, since you can get blasted within seconds for trying to make a boundary-pushing joke. Jerry Seinfeld has even decided that he is avoiding college campuses because of how politically correct students are. He suggested that kids don’t even understand what being “racist” really means.

During an interview with ESPN radio host Colin Cowherd, Seinfeld said that he has heard other comedians tell him to avoid campuses, which he does anyway. It’s just too hard to do comedy any longer since kids thing that can call anything “racist” or “sexist.”

As Breitbart notes, Seinfeld told a story about his 14-year-old daughter. “My wife says to her, ‘Well, you know, in the next couple of years, I think maybe you’re going to want to hang around the city more on the weekends so you can see boys,’” Seinfeld said. “You know, my daughter says, ‘That’s sexist.’”

He continued, “They just want to use these words. ‘That’s racist. That’s sexist. That’s prejudice.’ They don’t even know what they’re talking about.”

In November 2014, Chris Rock told The New York Magazine that he is also refusing to perform at colleges because they are “too conservative.”

“Not in their political views — not like they’re voting Republican — but in their social views and their willingness not to offend anybody,” Rock explained. “Kids raised on a culture of ‘We’re not going to keep score in the game because we don’t want anybody to lose.’ Or just ignoring race to a fault. You can’t say ‘the black kid over there.’ No, it’s ‘the guy with the red shoes.’ You can’t even be offensive on your way to being inoffensive.”
