Jimmy Fallon was hospitalized early Friday morning after wrapping the Tonight Show on Thursday night, which has resulted in Friday’s taping being canceled.
Fallon injured his hand in the early hours of Friday morning after dining at Scalinatella in New York City the previous night, which he left around 9pm. He was seen posing for photos with fans at the restaurant.
His rep told TMZ the injury took place at his home and he subsequently had to get minor hand surgery.
The Tonight Show’s Twitter page downplayed the extent of his injuries on Friday afternoon, calling the host “totally fine.”
“Hey guys - unfortunately tonight's taping has been cancelled due to Jimmy injuring his hand. He's totally fine but we'll be airing a repeat,” the page tweeted. “If you had tickets to tonight's show, we'll be in contact with you to reschedule your tix.”
