Lady Gaga has sold out stadiums around the world, topped the charts with hits like "Poker Face" and "Born This Way" and has become a pop culture icon around the world. Despite such success and acclaim it turns out that Gaga isn't fully confident with her songwriter skills.
People reported that Gaga was honored Tuesday night in New York City with the Contemporary Icon Award at the Songwriters Hall of Fame 46th Annual Induction and Awards.
Gaga made yet another fashion statement when she arrived to accept the award. She wore a leather bra and ripped panties along with a fitted red velvet jacket, US Magazine reported.
Tony Bennet, a longtime friend and collaborator with Gaga presented her with the award. Gaga was very honest and emotional while accepting the award. She explained that she wrote countless bad songs before finding her voice and creating these hits.
"I feel that I have a lot of work to do, as personally, I feel extremely unaccomplished as a songwriter. As my heroes have done some things that I can only dream of, I feel very in my infancy as a writer, and I think you for just ... at this point in my career, I've had some ups, I've had some downs, I've had some in-betweens – that you've chosen to honor me for the only thing I know I have, which is my heartbeat, which is that I write songs," said Gaga.
