When you see Magic Mike XXL, you'll find the film many audience members expected to see the first time. Unlike the first, it's all about the stripping, grinding and dancing. For a tale centered on that in conjunction to talking about the economic woes and capitalistic ambitions of our times was a little more than some bargained for, including the guys over at Honest Trailers.

In their latest assessment before tomorrow's Channing Tatum-led sequel, they lampoon everything from the movie's mismatched tone, how it focused on strippers' "mundane" day-to-day activities and making fun of the drama's love interest Brooke (Cody Horn), whom Mike leaves Olivia Munn's character Joanna for and is generally "a sourpuss who can't laugh like a human being." The latter point, though, they kinda have a point.

The video series is generally hit-and-miss, with recent takedowns on Leprechaun and The Lost World: Jurassic Park and the Entourage TV show being pretty spot-on, while other for the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, Pitch Perfect and Captain America: The Winter Solider failing to live up to their full potential. Despite some solid moments, this one lands in the latter category.

The faux trailers are typically better when they're making fun of bad movies instead of good ones. While they have some fun points to make about this 2012 film, they just prattle on about the same points again and again. They don't really address the meat of the story — well, besides the physical ones on screen of course — and mostly just make cheap gags (Steven Soderbergh= "Soda Burger"), primarily at the expense of the fairly simplistic story and some audience members' misunderstood expectations. It's not the worse, but Honest Trailers is typically better than this.

Anyway, here's the trailer to watch for yourself:
