He's been in dozens of games and a few shows, and now the classic video game character Mega Man is headed back to television.

According to Coming Soon, a 26 episode animated Mega Man TV show is in development. The show will be coming from Man of Action Entertainment, known for shows such as Ben 10 and Generator Rex, as well as the movie Big Hero 6. The studio has also worked with Marvel on Ultimate Spider-Man and Marvel’s Avengers Assemble.

The show will begin airing in 2017, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the video games.

The character of Mega Man is owned by Capcom and premiered in 1987 on the Famicom. Since then, he's been in plenty of games, including a few recent ones on the Nintendo DS. The character has also been seen recently in Super Smash Bros. He's a robot boy hero, and he's been translated to TV a few times before such as in the 1990s TV series Mega Man.

According to IGN, Man of Action Entertainment hopes to create "something new that still respects the long tradition of the character."

Mega Man will begin airing in 2017.
