Former MLB player and Network analyst Darryl Hamilton was killed in what appears to be a murder-suicide.

Chron reported that Hamilton, 50, was found dead in an area outside Houston inside a home on Sunday. Police were called after reports of a disturbance were made and they found Hamilton's body, near the entrance. Further inside, they found the body of Monica Jordan, his girlfriend.

Officials investigating the case said Hamilton had multiple injuries while Jordan’s wound appeared to be self-inflicted. The couple’s one-year-old son was in the home and was unharmed. He was taken into the custody of Texas’ Child Protective Services.

The Huffington Post reported that Police Lieutenant Onesimo Lopez with the Pearland police said, “At this point it does not appear that there was any kind of struggle. The incident occurred just inside the front door.”

Hamilton had posted a photo on his Facebook page just hours before his death of him with his two sons. In his career, Hamilton played with the New York Mets, the Texas Rangers, the San Francisco Giants, Colorado Rockies, and the Milwaukee Brewers.

MLB released a statement on Twitter saying, “We mourn the passing of our friend and colleague, Darryl Hamilton.”
