NASCAR's Dale Earnhardt Jr. is engaged.

Earnhardt Jr. and fiance, Amy Reimann, announced the news on July 17 on Twitter.

Reimann captioned a picture of the smiling couple, "I'm completely overwhelmed with love & joy. Happiest girl in the world! I love you so much @DaleJr."

The NASCAR driver, 40, quote retweeted the image and added "Looking forward to the rest of my life with this amazing girl."

The number 88 NASCAR driver popped the question to the Texas native while the two were visiting Germany. Earnhardt brought Reimann to Germany in hopes to learn more about his German background.

The two began dating back in 2009.

In a February interview with USA Today, the Hendrick Motorsports driver opened up about his relationship and then-future engagement.

"The people we interact with on Twitter are, 'When are you going to do it? Pop the question already,'" Earnhardt said in February. "She gets it more than I do: People telling her all the time I need to put a ring on it. When I turned 40, it really ramped up. People are like, 'Man, your time is running out. Amy is a good girl, what are you waiting for?'"

Earnhardt also told USA Today that even though he has a jewelry phobia and dislikes people wearing jewelry around him, he will be okay with Reinmann wearing her engagement ring and wedding ring.

No details for the wedding have been announced.
