NBC had to do the medical drama dance today, swapping Heartbreaker for the new Chicago Fire spinoff Chicago Med this fall.

Heartbreaker, which stars Melissa George as a heart surgeon with her own set of rules, was supposed to premiere this fall on Tuesdays at 9 p.m., between The Voice and Best Time Ever With Neil Patrick Harris. However, NBC told TV Line that George’s pregnancy has forced the show’s production schedule to be “revised.”

In its place, NBC will air Chicago Med, the second Chicago Fire spin-off.

Oddly enough, Fire is the one Chicago show being held back. Chicago PD was given a fall berth and will air on Wednesday after The Mysteries of Laura and Law & Order: SVU. Fire isn't set to start until November, when Best Time Ever finishes up.

At least the reason for the swap isn’t the same as ABC’s problems with its Biblical drama Of Gods And Prophets. That show was pulled from the fall to be retooled and recast. ABC even cut the season episode order to 10.
