Cartoon Network is launching a brand new Powerpuff Girls show with a new cast next year, and one of the original voice actors isn't happy.
Bubbles voice actor Tara Strong responded to Cartoon Network's announcement on Twitter saying, "I don't remember ordering a stab in the heart today."
She later clarified that she has no ill will towards the new voice actors, but that she and the rest of the cast were extremely hurt that they were never even asked to return. Strong then responded to a bunch of fans on Twitter voicing their support and saying how much her work has meant to them.
She also noted the absence of creator Craig McCracken in the new series, saying that she couldn't imagine Powerpuff Girls being the same without him.
The new voice actors of the Powerpuff Girls will be Amanda Leighton (The Fosters) as Blossom, Kristen Li (Monsters University) as Bubbles, and Natalie Palamides (My Name Is Vivienne) as Buttercup. The rebooted series will be hitting Cartoon Network sometime in 2016.
In addition to Powerpuff Girls, Strong is also known for her work on shows like Rugrats, The Fairly Odd Parents, Teen Titans, and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.
