Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen’s close friendship has raised a few eyebrows in the past and the X-Men co-stars are again proving just how close they are.
They’ve been seen holding hands, which prompted romance rumors, though Stewart is married to a woman.
On Wednesday night’s red carpet for McKellen’s Mr. Holmes premiere, the two kissed on the lips while embracing each other.
Today.com notes those who are familiar with their close friendship won’t be phased by this, as they’ve been documenting their affection for each other for years.
McKellen, who will play Cogsworth in the upcoming live-action Beauty and the Beast, actually officiated Stewart’s wedding to Sunny Ozell in 2013.
Though these two clearly have a ‘bromance’ going, McKellen also memorably kissed Jimmy Fallon on Saturday Night Live in 2002.
