Fox is having so much fun reviving its old shows that it is going to keep the trend going. Prison Break is the latest show from the network to get a limited series revival.
While Fox chiefs Dana Walden and Gary Newman suggested in January that a Prison Break revival is being considered, it seemed like that would be difficult to cement.
The issue is that both stars of the show, Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller are busy with recurring roles on The Flash. Miller is even one of the stars of the next DC Comics series, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
However, there must be some empty days in their schedules because TV Line reported Monday that the Prison Break revival is now in development. It will be a limited series with a storyline that does come to a closed end.
Miller and Purcell starred on the original series, which ran from 2005 to 2009 and Miller received a Golden Globe nomination in 2006. It was created by Paul Scheuring and centered on a man sent to death row for a crime he didn’t commit. On the outside, his brother tries to prove his innocence.
Fox and 20th Century Fox Tv did not comment on the report.
Fox also revived 24 for a limited series last year. A six-episode The X-Files reboot airs early next year.
