Rose McGowan shared a request she got for a meeting she was attending in regards to a part in an Adam Sandler film, adding to the more broad conversation of sexism in Hollywood.
McGowan revealed she was told to wear a “form-fitting tank that shows off cleavage,” with “Push-up bras encouraged.”
McGowan couldn’t stay quiet about this request, telling the New York Post it’s “embarrassing” to be part Hollywood right now.
“These people have to get out of the wrong decade . . . or century,” she said. “I didn’t take a vow of silence when I joined the industry. I wasn’t aware I joined the Mafia.”
The former Charmed star also said she shared this so someone could hopefully learn from it. “I’m going to make fun of something stupid, and maybe somebody will learn something,” she said.
Countless actresses have complained about sexism in the film industry, such as Kristen Stewart recently. She called Hollywood “disgustingly sexist” and “so offensive.”
