The newest addition to Netflix’s Orange is the New Black wrote and starred in a video about gender fluidity last year, which is now going viral because of her newfound fame.

Rose, who says she doesn’t fully identify with either sex, starred in a short film called “Break Free,” where she’s seen embracing both her feminine and masculine sides.

She is now talking about this idea of gender fluidity and androgyny to Marie Claire, explaining, “I definitely don't identify as any gender. I'm not a guy; I don't really feel like a woman, but obviously I was born one. So, I'm somewhere in the middle, which–in my perfect imagination–is like having the best of both sexes.”

Rose also brought up trailblazers like her own-co-star, Laverne Cox, and Caitlyn Jenner for introducing the conversation of being transgender.

“Between Orange with Laverne, the show Transparent, and Caitlyn Jenner, obviously we're in the middle of something enormous–a transgender movement. I'm just proud to be alive during this massive shift in the world,” she explained.
