Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested on Monday on an assault charge with a deadly weapon.
TMZ reported that the rapper allegedly attacked UCLA football strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi with a kettlebell, which has been confirmed by the campus police and reportedly caught on video. His son Justin Combs is a defensive back for the UCLA football team.
“I am thankful that our staff showed the level of professionalism that they did in handling this situation,” head coach Jim Mora said in an official statement. “While UCPD continues to review this matter, we will let the legal process run its course and refrain from further comment at this time.”
The “unfortunate incident,” as Mora described, took place at UCLA’s Acosta Athletic Training Complex where Combs was detained and held in custody at the campus jail, notes E! News.
He was then booked Monday evening at the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department Inmate Reception Center on a felony charge. His bail has been set at $160,00 according to his booking sheet.
Reps for Diddy did not comment on the arrest.
