Shania Twain opened up about her highly public split and how she feels about her former best friend that stole her husband.
In 2008, Twain was making headlines because of her very public split from her former husband and manager, Robert “Mutt” Lange. The separation became worse when Lange went on to marry Twain’s best friend. But even years later, the “I Feel Like A Woman” singer still remembers that difficult time period in her life. “When that happened, I thought, ‘Forget it, this is more than I can handle — I’m never going to sing again,’” Twain admitted in an interview with the New York Post. “I had to grieve through it.”
The former couple share a 13-year-old son together and keep a “cordial” relationship, as Twain described. But her relationship with her former best friend isn’t quite at that level. Twain admitted that she does not “invite that trigger" into her life.
In 2011, Twain released a book called “From This Moment On” which featured an inside look to her childhood, rise to fame, and very public split. Back in March, Twain announced that she was preparing for her final tour. She described it as a “big, big, tour” because it would be her final one. She added, “I'm going to make the most of it, let's put it that way.”
