Showtime announced today that it has picked up another season of Episodes, the critically praised comedy about a British couple adapting their TV series for American audiences with the help of Matt LeBlanc.
The show’s fifth season will run nine episodes. Stephan Mangan and Tamsin Greig play Sean and Beverly, the British writers who are trying to figure out the Hollywood lifestyle while also writing and producing Pucks!. They are also currently working on The Opposite Of Us and trying to get that done.
LeBlanc co-stars as a highly fictionalized version of himself. He won a Golden Globe for the role in 2012 and has been nominated for three Emmys. Creators and executive producers Jeffrey Klarik and David Crane have also earned Emmy nominations for the past three years.
“We are so pleased to continue working with David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik, two of the sharpest creative minds in comedy, along with the incredibly talented cast, led by Matt LeBlanc,” Showtime chief David Nevins said in a statement. “And now that viewers have even more ways to access Showtime programming, I’m excited for a whole new audience to watch this smart, funny comedy gem.
Episodes will resume filming in London next year. Season four wrapped up in March.
