Snoop Dogg is an entrepreneur with several interests outside the music business. His next dream: to become Twitter’s new chief executive. He could certainly bring a new kind of innovation to the social network.
Late Thursday, Twitter announced that CEO Dick Costolo is stepping down, with co-founder Jack Dorsey stepping in as interim CEO. Investors have called for Costolo’s resignation for months, as the social network - known for its 140-character limit on messages - has failed to come up with impressive innovations since going public in 2013.
So, if it’s innovation that Twitter needs, why not hire rapper Snoop Dogg? He came up with the idea himself, announcing on Twitter (of course), “Im ready to lead @twitter !! #SnoopforCEO.” Sadly, he didn’t reveal any ideas right away, just that he really wants to get paid.
It turns out that many Twitter users liked the idea and started using the #SnoopforCEO hashtag. Toronto politician Rob Ford even got in on the action:
Twitter already set up a search committee to find a new CEO, but they really don’t have to look too far. Please, consider Snoop for the job.
