The NBA Finals are underway and one of the biggest questions being asked is not only about Kyrie Irving’s injury but also when we will see Stephen Curry’s daughter Riley again?
After the Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday everyone thought that Riley would make a postgame appearance with her father. She did not and may have been sleeping since it was past the 2-year-old’s bedtime by the time the game ended. However, in a piece for Time, her mother Ayesha, gave a glimpse into what it’s like parenting the little girl who has stolen some of her dad’s spotlight and become a viral superstar.
"All the hoopla and excitement of Stephen playing for the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Playoffs has really put our life into perspective," Ayesha wrote. "If anything, the attention has brought us closer together and made us realize that through all of this, we need to remain balanced and relaxed, especially in our home with our daughter.
"I feel that the biggest thing you can do, as a parent, is to engage. You can never be too busy for your child. There should always be time for a bedtime story, impromptu playtime, or a quick game of hide-and-seek — or 'find me,' as Riley calls it. These moments with your child should never get pushed to the bottom of the list."
And of her daughter’s postgame popularity, she said she "wouldn’t change a thing." Mrs. Curry said she was proud and happy that Riley got to share in the experiences with her father while bringing laughter to the viewers.
We may have missed Riley’s adorable press-conference presence last night, but hopefully we’ll be seeing her again throughout the series.
