Jimmy Fallon had to cancel last night’s taping of NBC’s Tonight Show after injuring his hand early Friday morning. He’s doing fine and gave fans an update on Twitter.

NBC and Fallon cancelled Friday’s show early in the day. Fallon apparently hurt his hand when he got home early Friday morning after dining out following Thursday’s taping. The Tonight Show staff assured fans that he is doing fine, although he did actually need surgery.

“Jimmy Fallon was required to have minor surgery after injuring his hand at his Manhattan apartment this morning,” his rep told the Huffington Post Friday. “He is expected to make a full recovery.”

Fallon tweeted himself that he tripped when his ring got caught on the side of a table. He almost lost a finger! He then tweeted “#drugged #blessed” and thanked fans for their good wishes. In another message, he showed off his bandaged hand.

Monday’s episode of the Tonight Show is scheduled to feature Jack Black, Melissa Rivers and Jeff Garlin.
