This week’s column is bursting with a variety of movie genres from drama to animation to thrilling adventure. Boulevard stars the late Robin Williams where plays a married man who after a life-altering decision, learns who he really is. The Secret Life of Pets is an animated family comedy centered around a terrier named Max, as the favorite pet whose status is threatened when his owner brings home a mongrel dog. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 has Katniss and District 13 waging all-out war against the Capital. Each movie is guaranteed to make moviegoers cry, think, laugh and be on the edge of their seats up until their very last frames. In addition, all three movies have casts packed with top drawer celebrities with massive fanbases, which is sure to bring crowds to each film’s opening day.

Boulevard is a drama starring the late Robin Williams in his final on-screen role. Also starring Bob Odenkirk from the hit AMC television series Better Call Saul, Kathy Baker, Giles Matthey from the popular HBO television series True Blood and Roberto Aguire. Williams plays Nolan Mack, a married man who has been at the same job for almost 26 years of his life. Also, he and his wife have come to view their long marriage as a just distraction from the reality around them. Yet, on one day’s drive home down an unknown street, Nolan meets a troubled young man named Leo (Aguire) and Nolan finds himself breaking from his routine life and learning who he truly is. The film’s trailer shows how Nolan tries to help Leo and how their relationship ends up changing Nolan’s view of himself, his marriage and his life. It opens in theaters Friday, July 10.

The Secret Life of Pets is an animated family comedy starring the voices of Ellie Kemper, the star of Netflix’s hit series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Million Dollar Arm’s Lake Bell, comedians Kevin Hart and Louis C.K., Albert Brooks and Eric Stonestreet from ABC ‘s hit comedy Modern Family. The flick’s plot is set in a Manhattan apartment with a terrier named Max (voiced by Louis C.K.) is his owner’s favorite pet until his owner brings home Duke, a slovenly mongrel dog who threatens to supplant him. Yet, they must call a truce when they learn that an adorable bunny named Snowball is organizing a band of abandoned pets to take revenge on all of the happily-owned pets and their owners. This animated romp’s teaser trailer displays that when all of the pet owners in a Manhattan apartment building leave their apartments, their pets have their own lives and network with each other and do their own thing. It opens in theaters on Wednesday, July 8.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 is the fourth and final installment in the The Hunger Games movie franchise. Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland, Natalie Dormer, Sam Claflin, Julianne Moore, Liam Hemsworth, Jena Malone, Robert Knepper, Woody Harrelson, Elden Henson, Philip Seymour Hoffman (in his final on-screen role,) Stanley Tucci, Willow Shields and Gwendoline Christie. The motion picture’s trailer illustrates how Katniss (Lawrence) must engage in a final showdown to save the people of District 13 and the sacrifices and challenges she must endure in fighting for hers and their freedom. It opens in theaters on Friday, November 6.
