We join the house right after the BOTB competition. Operation ‘Backdoor Austin’ has taken a major hit as Liz and James won BOTB and dethroned Jackie. That is why you NEVER volunteer to go on the block. They can still backdoor Austin as long he he or Liz don’t win the POV. Vanessa feels responsible and hopes that this plan doesn’t backfire on them.

Clay is nervous about being nominated but chopping block veteran Johnny Mac tells him to relax. Shelli hasn’t cried yet…that amazes me. Austin and Liz talk and Liz has a feeling that James threw the BOTB comp. Austin talks with Vanessa and she plays dumb and denies everything. I’m still shocked Austin hasn’t figured out anything.

We witness some awkward flirting and cuddling with Liz and Austin. He clearly has a crush on her while she is ok with just being “besties.” Austin goes in for the move and kisses Liz. He thinks she was being bashful but actually she is not feeling Austin that way at all. I want to know…who was laying in the bed across the way listening to that?

Clay, Becky and Vanessa are playing in the POV this week along with Shelli, Johnny Mac and Liz. The only way Vanessa’s plan doesn’t work is if Liz wins the POV. Vanessa discuss the potential of maybe telling Liz the plan. That is a terrible idea. If you tell Liz anything, she will 100% tell Austin the plan.

Jason hosts the POV competition this week called “Get Nutty.” The HG are dressed like squirrels and the object of the comp. is to roll their acorn up and down the panel 250 times in a row. If it hits the ground, they must start back at 0. The first HG to do this wins the POV. Vanessa is praying that Liz doesn’t win. Clay dominates the majority of this comp with ‘POV King’ Johnny Mac on his back. Becky makes a good run but drops her ball around the 130 range and is just crushed. In a close race, the Texas A&M football player lives to fight another week as he wins POV and secures his safety.

In a move I find very questionable, Vanessa decides to Liz the plan to backdoor Austin. I don’t agree with this. Liz seems slightly conflicted about it, even when she finds out that Austin spilled the beans on the twins. Vanessa also informs her of his plan to have Julia be a target and his master plan was to get Liz to the jury house to spend time with her. They also do think about how Austin is a vote in their favor.

The waterworks are coming. Vanessa then wants to be honest with Austin so he is not completely blindsided. Austin blames his current game play on his emotions and that he is falling in love with Liz. That is obvious. He knows his trust has been shattered and begs Vanessa for his life in this game. Vanessa gets upset and she tells Austin the whole house is behind this plan. Austin is now going on MAJOR damage control to try and save himself.

Austin confronts Shelli and Clay about the situation and trying to save himself. He is furious at Jason for telling everything he told him in confidence. I’m not sure Clay and Shelli are sold and will convince Vanessa to not nominate him. The way this house goes, it changes by the minute.

Vanessa calls the entire house to the living room. Liz and James are joining Vanessa for a steak dinner from Outback. They each get to select a guest. Vanessa picks Becky, Liz(obviously) picks Austin and James picks Clay. The backyard is set up like an outside bar at Outback. I will admit the food looked great and now I’m craving some Outback. I will admit that this entire part of the episode was good. It is always funny to see them taking a break from the game and enjoy hanging out.

We immediately jump back to game talk between Vanessa, Clay and Shelli. They ponder their options on what to do. Vanessa is in a tough spot, they can either go with the entire house and backdoor Austin or they can draw the line in the sand and say game on to the rest of the house. They also debate a potential nominee other than Austin.

It is time for the POV Ceremony. This should be good. You either lose an alliance member or you start a battle in the house. Clay obviously uses the POV on himself. Here comes the moment of truth. She decides to nominate…JASON! Wow. I did not see that coming. That was the most intense POV meeting so far. The battle lines have been drawn. The other alliance in the house looks shocked. The last ten minutes of this episode were great. The first major blindside of #BB17.

Who will be evicted tomorrow night…Becky or Jason?

Random thoughts from tonight’s episode:

Johnny Mac is loving life not being nominated. I didn’t like him at first but has has grown on me.

#BBnomance is my favorite hashtag so far this season. Poor Austin.

We watch Steve talk to the camera. Literally the camera. By himself. Can he self evict?

I felt really bad for Becky after the POV. She was doing well and she was legit upset. Also, why does Steve not like her?

My favorite quote: “Good ole fashioned ass whooping”—Clay

Meg SERIOUSLY has the most annoying voice. Her face when James picked Clay for the Outback date was priceless.

That POV Ceremony was a complete shock. The facial expressions were classic. The battle is on.
