The episode begins during day 7 in the house. We see reactions post BOTB competition with Steve upset that he is still nominated alongside Jackie and Becky and John are ecstatic they are safe this week. James and Jason are still discussing their master plan to backdoor Jace this week. They need at least seven votes to guarantee his eviction. They know Jason, Audrey and Da’Vonne are on board with this plan. They need to go out and recruit votes. They bring in Meg and Clay and discuss forming a power alliance between Da’Vonne, Jason, James, Audrey, Meg and Clay. Da’Vonne has doubts about how long this alliance will truly last.
The HG are all hanging out in the backyard when Jace decides he is going to go streaking. He doesn’t quite get the reaction he is going for…as the HG don’t seem amused or care at all. Austin hears buzz around the house that Jace could be a target. He tells Jace to go talk with James and find out where his head is at. Jace talks with James and James tells him he is all over the place with what he wants to do. Jace thinks he is forming an alliance with himself, Austin, Audrey and James. Jace has no idea that he is the target this week.
The HG meet in the living room to pick players for the POV Competition. The participants include HOH James and nominees Steve and Jackie. Becky, John and Jason are picked to play by random draw.
Da’Vonne is wondering around the house counting various items preparing for competitions that will involve counting. She starts wondering through the bedrooms and Clay, Shelli and Jeff wonder what she is up to. Clay and Shelli send Jeff in to see what Da’Vonne is doing. This leads to an argument between Jeff and Da’Vonne. Da’Vonne retreats to the HOH room where she is furious that Jeff confronted her and even more upset that Clay “sent” Jeff in the room. Jeff goes up to the HOH to apologize to Da’Vonne who “accepts” his apology. Downstairs, Jeff tells Clay what is going on, and they refer to Da’Vonne as trying to be the “puppet master” in the game.
Clay goes up to the HOH room to confront Da’Vonne. He calls her out about the entire situation and this leads to them arguing about if Jeff was sent in the room and they continue to go back and forth. Clay leaves the room while Da’Vonne gets upset about them questioning her. Audrey goes and tells Clay to apologize since they all just formed an alliance together. Clay goes and apologizes to Da’Vonne, but she doesn’t believe a word of it. I can honestly say this was one of the dumbest fights I have ever seen on Big Brother. Da’Vonne is a complete wildcard.
The HG go into the kitchen and see BB slop and this means the Have-Not rules are beginning. James makes the four HG that were safe: Austin, Liz, Da’Vonne and Vanessa the first four Have-Nots of the summer. The Have-Not room looks like a dentist’s office.
Austin is hosting the first POV competition of the summer. The backyard is set up like the mountains of Nova Scotia and they must find gold nuggets that have letters on them. The only way to win the POV is to spell out the word with the letters that add up to the highest value. The letters have numbers from 1-3. They have ten minutes to do this. Steve wants to win this because even though he has been promised safety, he doesn’t feel completely safe. Jason is terrible at spelling, so I don’t see him winning. James is doing well in the competition and is the closest to finishing his word. The final minute of the competition and the HG lock in their words.
James spelled the word “lifeguards.” James eliminates Becky, Jackie and Jason. It comes down to Steve, John or James for the veto. Steve spells the word “trombonists.” He takes the lead over James. John spelled “boogers” which means Steve wins the first POV of the summer. The plan still seems to be backdooring Jace…who has no idea it is coming.
Post POV competition sees Steve celebrating his win and keeping himself safe. Early in the morning, Audrey is talking with James and Jason about trying to solidify the alliance and get the votes to get Jace out. Audrey snags Shelli, Jeff, Clay and Meg and discussing making this group official. Audrey is trying to make a big move but it could very easily backfire on her. I think she is trying to make a big move way too early.
It is time for the first POV Meeting of the summer. Steve takes his veto and is obviously going to save himself. James has a big decision to make. It is time to see if he goes through with the plan. Jace still has no idea it is happening. Steve uses the POV on himself and now James must name a replacement nominee. James says he made this decision completely by himself and nominates Jace for eviction. Jace looks stunned. Audrey completely masterminded this plan and it all comes down to eviction night.
Who will be the first person evicted from the Big Brother house…Jackie or Jace?
