Alec Baldwin has dedicated himself to campaign finance reformation. When he was asked about his views on Donald Trump during a radio interview with Howard Stern, Baldwin couldn’t help but use Trump as an example of what is wrong with America’s political system.
On Tuesday, Baldwin’s conversation with Stern went viral after he declared that he wants Trump to win, reports Mediate.
“If Trump was the GOP nominee, it is exactly what we deserve right now with the system we have. There is a part of me that would love to see Trump win.”
Of course Baldwin is being sarcastic. He doesn’t want Trump to succeed, but if he does, Baldwin believes that it will give America the wake up call it needs.
“Money has destroyed the American political system,” says Baldwin. And he isn’t just attacking the Republicans.
Baldwin talks about how Hilary Clinton and other candidates are owned by somebody in order for them to raise “sick amounts of money.”
Without financial support, the candidates would not be able to have their voices heard.
The actor’s message is if Trump does win, it will show America that whoever has the most money has the most power.
