Patrick Dempsey, who starred in Can’t Buy Me Love with Amanda Peterson, paid tribute to the late actress. Peterson died last week at age 43.
Peterson died on July 3, but was not found until two days later in her Greely, Colorado home. Her parents said that she was suffering from a series of illnesses before her death and had sleep apnea.
Dempsey was Peterson’s co-star in her biggest film and sent his thoughts and prayers to her family on Twitter Tuesday. “In my memory, she will always be vibrant and young. Gone too soon. Sending my thoughts and prayers to Amanda's family,” the Grey’s Anatomy star wrote.
In an interview with People Magazine, Peterson’s mother, Sylvia, said that the family was going to throw a surprise dinner for her over the weekend when her body was found. She was discovered by investigators sent to her home after she did not make a scheduled meeting.
“She was just so much fun, and she was just great," Sylvia told the magazine. "She had a cute sense of humor [and a] love of history – just a very, very cute person."
“This was not, in any way, a drug thing,” Sylvia told Entertainment Tonight.
Peterson made her final film appearance in 1994’s Windrunner and had stayed away from Hollywood. She married twice and is survived by her second husband and two children, although her mother said that she had been living alone recently. A cause of death has not been determined.
