Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, has died at 22.
Her death came shortly after she was moved to hospice care late last month. Brown was found unconscious in her bathtub on January 31 before being transferred to the hospital, where she was placed in a medically induced coma. Her brain function was determined to be "significantly diminished," according to People.
As previously reported, a white tent was set up at the back door of the Atlanta hospice center. Soon after, a hearse was photographed pulling up to the scene and backing into the tent, sparking the attention of the media.
"We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She is in God’s hands now," read a statement from the family prior to Brown's death.
Brown was born on March 4, 1993 in Livingston, New Jersey. Her childhood was plagued by swarms of paparazzi and media scandals, due to her parents' public struggles with drugs and domestic violence.
On February 11, 2012, her mother, R&B singer Whitney Houston, was found unconscious in the bathtub of her Beverly Hilton Hotel suite. She was pronounced dead shortly after. The cause of death was determined to be accidental drowning and the effects of heart disease and cocaine use, according to CBS News. Nearly three years later, Bobbi Kristina was eerily discovered in the same manner by her boyfriend, Nick Gordon.
Brown and Gordon's relationship status was often a hot topic in the media. The pair met when Houston took Gordon into her own home when he was 12 years old. A few months after Houston's death, Brown announced that she was engaged to Gordon and later stated that they were married. After Brown was placed in the hospital, her father's lawyer told Us Weekly that the pair were never legally married.
People reported that Brown's conservator recently filed a $10 million lawsuit against Gordon, accusing him of withdrawing Brown's funds without authorization and physically abusing her.
Brown was devastated following the death of her mother, even suffering from a nervous breakdown the morning after Houston's death.
