An initial autopsy on Bobbi Kristina Brown was completed today, just hours after her death on Sunday. The 22-year-old had been in a coma since Jan. 31, when she was found unresponsive in a bathtub.
The Fulton County, Georgia medical examiner explained that the autopsy shows no “obvious underlying cause of death and no significant injuries.” Brown, who was the only child of the late Whitney Houston, did not have a medical condition that could have contributed to her death.
The medical examiner added that they have issued a subpoena for “documentary information” related to her death and will continue their investigation. The process could take several weeks and no cause of death was immediately announced.
Previously, the medical examiner said that it could be difficult to conduct an investigation because it has been nearly seven months since she was found in her bathtub by boyfriend Nick Gordon and a friend. However, the office believes that a complete autopsy will answer their questions.
Brown’s death was announced Sunday night by the Houston family. Her father, singer Bobby Brown, issued his own statement, saying that he is “completely numb” after his daughter’s death.
Gordon is also reportedly devastated and on suicide watch after Brown’s death. He is being sued for $10 million by Brown’s conservator.
