With six months left to go until the premiere, Fox has just revealed the first official footage from the X-Files reboot.
It's only fifteen seconds long, but for hardcore fans who have waited for this for years, that's all we really need. The teaser is pretty mysterious, but we do get a few intriguing shots of an alien spaceship, the "I want to believe" poster on the ground, and of course Mulder and Scully back again and in action.
It's hard to believe this is really happening, and the X-Files reboot actually came together rather quickly. It was announced in March of this year, as we previously reported, and will be making it to the air in January.
The new season will consist of only six episodes, but it sounds like the network is open to doing more after that. It should be pretty incredible to see Mulder and Scully back on the air, and David Duchovny praised the new episodes, saying that he cried reading the first script, as we previously reported.
The X-Files will return on January 24th. In addition to David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, also returning will be William B. Davis as the Smoking Man and Mitch Pileggi as Walter Skinner. Joel McHale will also be guest starring in the new series.
