Chris Brown has filed for paternity of his one-year-old daughter, Royalty.

According to TMZ, Brown is fed up with Nia Guzman, Royalty’s mother. The R&B singer feels that Guzman’s demands for $15,000 a month in child support are unrealistic. He wants to take matters into his own hands.

Brown filed the necessary legal documents in Houston to settle the issues of child support and custody. He currently pays Guzman $2,500 a month, according to TMZ.

“I think this was just a blessing in disguise with my daughter because I get to look at her and teach her the right path and also be a father in my daugher’s life,” Brown said in an interview with Ryan Seacrest last month.

Brown also wants the judge to establish better custody guidelines because he claims that Guzman denied him the right to see Royalty.

The singer recently celebrated his daughter’s first birthday in Disneyland.
