Actress Demi Moore said she is in “absolute shock” after hearing the news that a 21-year-old man was found dead at her swimming pool when she was not home over the weekend.
A 21-year-old man’s body was found in the swimming pool at Moore’s Beverly Hills home Sunday morning. Sources told TMZ that the man was there while Moore’s caretaker threw a party and had invited the victim. The site reports that there was “a limited amount” of alcohol at the party.
After the news broke, Moore sent a statement to People, confirming that she was not in the U.S. at the time, since she is celebrating Scout Willis’ 24th birthday today.
“I am in absolute shock. I was out of the country traveling to meet my daughters for a birthday celebration when I got this devastating news,” Moore said. “The loss of a child is an unthinkable tragedy and my heart goes out to this young man's family and friends. I ask that you please respect the privacy of all concerned during this sensitive time.”
Police told People that they don’t suspect foul play and they are waiting on a toxicology report. There were only five to six people at the party, police told the magazine.
