Actress and mother of Michael Douglas, Diana Douglas Webster, died from cancer on Friday evening in Los Angeles. She was 92.
The news was announced through an obituary from her son's production company and confirmed by her husband, Donald Webster.
"She was a person much beloved by everyone," he said. "One of her greatest qualities was that she was always thinking of the other person."
CNN noted that the actress was born Diana Dill on January 22, 1923 in Devonshire, Bermuda. While attending acting school in New York she met Kirk Douglas. The two married in 1943 and had Michael in 1944. They had their second son Joel in 1947. She and Kirk divorced a few years later and Webster married her second husband, Bill Darrid, in 1956. He died in 1992 and she was with Donald for the last 15 years.
Some of her film and television credits include Planes, Trains and Automobiles, It Runs in the Family and The West Wing.
Webster is survived by her husband, children and grandchildren.
