The Duggar family is reportedly not taking the cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting well and they’re already eyeing a return to television.
TLC finally canceled the show officially after weeks of speculation following Josh Duggar admitting to molesting underage girls as a teenager, two of which were his sisters.
The Duggars are "heartbroken that they've now lost that platform” of portraying what a religious family looks like to viewers.
"The Duggars want to return to TV because they truly believe it was part of God's plan for them to spread the word about their faith," a source also told People.
The source continued to say that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar were shocked that they didn’t just bounce back from the scandal.
They “honestly did expect people to just move on from this," said the source, adding, "Their thinking is, they put this behind them ages ago, so why wouldn't the rest of the world?"
Meanwhile, TLC has teamed up with child-protection groups Darkness to Light and RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) and will produce a documentary on child sexual abuse, which Jill and Jessa Duggar will participate in.
