Actor and comedian Echo Kellum has been cast in the recurring role of Curtis Holt (also known as Mr. Terrific), on the CW show, Arrow, Variety confirmed on Friday.

It was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con, that Curtis Holt will be the show’s first openly gay character. Holt is described as being a technological savant and an inventor who works at Palmer Technologies under the supervision of Felicity Smoak, portrayed by Emily Bett Rickards.

Mr. Terrific is known as Michael Holt in the comics, and is seen as a self-made billionaire and Olympic gold medal-winning decathlete with genius intellect who becomes a superhero after the death of his wife and unborn child, and later goes on to be the leader of the Justice Society of America.

The casting news, which was first reported by EW, stated that Kellum will make his debut in Arrow’s episode two of season four. The show’s Comic-Con panel also revealed that DC villain Anarky will make an appearance along with Ra’s al Ghul’s nemesis, Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough).

The fourth season of Arrow is set to premiere at 8 p.m. Oct. 7 on the CW.
